The Panthers may have just cost themselves a Super Bowl. They cut a Penn State kid. (Yeah, it's my one chance to be a homer.) They released safety Anthony Scirrotto, who had a nice career at Penn State and also has the possibility of a baseball career.

Carolina also released Michigan State defensive tackle Justin Kershaw to make room for its signed rookies. Kershaw and Scirrotto were signed as free agents after the draft. The good news is the Panthers still have Penn Stater Dan Connor on the roster.
