The word in NFL circles is that the 2011 regular-season schedule is coming soon.

It won’t be Friday. We’d already know because the league will provide some advance notice and we would have heard by now if the league was promoting television coverage for a prime-time unveiling. Besides, the NFL is very savvy when it comes to public relations and a Friday night release, followed by schedules running in Saturday newspapers isn’t going to provide maximum exposure.

I’d look for something more toward the middle of next week or the Monday or Tuesday prior to the start of the April 28 draft. With that in mind, let’s review the home and away opponents for each NFC South team and let’s keep in mind word already is out that Tampa Bay’s home game with Chicago will be played in London.

Atlanta Falcons

Home: Carolina, New Orleans, Tampa Bay, Green Bay, Minnesota, Philadelphia, Jacksonville, Tennessee.

Away: Carolina, New Orleans, Tampa Bay, Chicago, Detroit, Seattle, Houston, Indianapolis.

New Orleans Saints

Home: Atlanta, Carolina, Tampa Bay, Chicago, Detroit, New York Giants, Houston, Indianapolis.

Away: Atlanta, Carolina, Tampa Bay, Green Bay, Minnesota, St. Louis, Jacksonville, Tennessee.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Away: Atlanta, Carolina, New Orleans, Green Bay, Minnesota, San Francisco, Jacksonville, Tennessee.
