With all signs pointing to labor peace very soon and numerous reports saying teams will begin training camps Wednesday through Friday, let’s take a look at the logical timetables for NFC South teams to get to work.

No teams have released their official camp schedules yet and I doubt that will happen before the labor deal is finalized. But we should be able to provide some pretty good estimates.

There long has been an NFL rule that teams report to camp 15 days before their first game. The first preseason games are scheduled for Aug. 11 and Wednesday lines up with the 15-day time frame. No NFC South teams open the preseason until Aug. 12, when Atlanta, New Orleans and Tampa Bay have exhibitions scheduled.

That means it’s likely the Falcons, Saints and Buccaneers likely will report Thursday. Carolina doesn’t open its preseason until Aug. 13, so a Friday reporting date seems likely for the Panthers.
