Panthers, Saints will miss Vick

Thursday's news that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick will be eligible to play in Week 3 means the Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints won't have to face the guy who sometimes gave their defenses problems when he was with the Atlanta Falcons.

The Eagles open the season at Carolina and host New Orleans in Week 2. The Bucs could get a healthy dose of Vick when they go to Philadelphia on Oct. 11 because the Eagles will be coming off their bye week and may use the time to expand whatever role Vick is playing.

Of course, the biggest storyline with Vick and the NFC South is his return to Atlanta. The Falcons host the Eagles on Dec. 6.
