The ESPN.com Power Rankings for the first week of the season are out and we’ve got one change from last year.

Instead of having something like 379 voters, we’re going with only four. I’m not one of them. John Clayton, Jeff Chadiha, Mike Sando and Paul Kuharksy have the honor. By the way, I’ve heard rumors that Kuharsky really, really enjoys hearing from those who disagree with his voting, so hit his mailbag.

Anyway, I’ve got no qualms with the order in which the voters ranked the NFC South teams. They go Atlanta, Carolina, New Orleans and Tampa Bay and that’s the same order I went with in my preseason predictions.

I won’t even argue the landing spots of Atlanta at No. 8, Carolina at No. 14 and New Orleans at No. 18. But I’m thinking the voters were a little harsh on Tampa Bay at No. 26. I’m not predicting big things for the Bucs, but I think you could make a case they’re at least as good as the Jaguars, Bengals, Jets and 49ers, who rank immediately in front of them.
