The New Orleans Times-Picayune is reporting that an NFL spokesman said defensive ends Will Smith and Charles Grant will not be suspended for Week 1 of the regular season.
As I said earlier today, I’m not sure this is a good thing. Sure, you want your starting defensive ends on the field. But the possibility of suspensions is going to keep hanging over this team. If they’re inevitable, it would have been nice to get one game out of the way when the opponent is the Detroit Lions.
