TAMPA, Fla. -- Apparently, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are ready to take the “next man up’’ theory to a new level, even if they don’t know the next guy’s name.
The Bucs could be without top running back LeGarrette Blount, who has a leg injury, Sunday when they host the New Orleans Saints. There are other options, but they just aren’t that well-known, even in the locker room.
“His’’ name is Kregg Lumpkin and the media quickly reminded Williams of that fact.
“Yeah, Lumpkin,’’ Williams said.
For the record, Lumpkin has been with the Bucs since last season, but he has only three career carries. Graham’s been with the Buccaneers since 2004. He’s moved back and forth between fullback and tailback and likely would get most of the playing time if Blount is out.
