Now we likely know why the Carolina Panthers, who frantically have been grabbing just about every available defensive tackle, had no interest in Shaun Smith.

Smith is reportedly facing a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s anabolic steroid policy. Smith was released by Detroit last week.

He could be available to return in Week Five and don’t rule out the Panthers showing interest then because their situation at defensive tackle has the potential to be an on-going problem.
