Time for a look at the top Wednesday morning headlines from around the NFC South.

I know Tampa Bay fans are letting their imaginations run wild about who the Bucs might bring in after placing running back Earnest Graham on injured reserve. They might want to curb their enthusiasm. It’s not going to be Tiki Barber and there aren’t too many glamorous names out there this time of year. The most logical move seems to be promoting Mossis Madu from the practice squad.

Although the Saints appeared flawless in Sunday night’s win against the Colts, safety Roman Harper said there are things that can improve. He’s right. No team should ever be content, but the Saints are in a good spot right now and the upcoming game at St. Louis is a perfect opportunity to tune up any rough edges before the schedule turns more difficult.

Smart move by Atlanta coach Mike Smith to give his team the rest of the bye week off. The Falcons are banged-up. They’ve shown some signs they might be putting their early-season struggles behind them. When they come back to work Monday, the Falcons should be rested and that might help them finally find consistency.

After some early injuries at guard and the loss of right tackle Jeff Otah to a season-ending injury, Carolina’s offensive line appears to be improving. Undrafted rookie Byron Bell has been doing a nice job in Otah’s place.
