They’re coming off an ugly loss to the Chicago Bears in London and they’ve had a bye week to reflect on it.

But the Tampa Bay Buccaneers aren’t in bad shape. They’re 4-3 and they have a chance to shake up the NFC South standings Sunday when they play at New Orleans. The Bucs beat the Saints in Tampa in early October. The Bucs have a chance to improve to 3-0 in the division. It’s a little too early to start talking about tiebreakers.

The Falcons also are 4-3 and they play Indianapolis on Sunday. That game seems like an automatic win, but there’s no such thing as an automatic win after what happened to the Saints on Sunday.

Still, the Bucs and Falcons are in position to make the NFC South race very interesting. Heading into Sunday, the Saints seemed to have a chance to run away with the division. But they squandered that opportunity.

The Bucs and Falcons, who each had a bye Sunday are suddenly very much in the race for the NFC South title.
