McCoy getting start in place of Hayes

TAMPA, Fla. -- We’ve got another surprise at Raymond James Stadium (in addition to Josh Freeman being the inactive third quarterback).

Matt McCoy will get the start at weakside linebacker, instead of Geno Hayes. That’s a surprise because Hayes had apparently won the job as the heir apparent to Derrick Brooks in the preseason. He had been getting the first-team work for several weeks, so this one’s shocking.

We don’t know if Hayes is injured or sick, but he practiced all week and was not listed on the injury report.
