Should be a busy afternoon as teams return to practice after having Tuesday off. Meanwhile, here are some headlines from around the NFC South.
The Falcons only had 11 games missed by starters last season and part of the reason for that might be the presence of Jeff Fish, the league’s only director of athletic performance. D. Orlando Ledbetter has a look at how Fish keeps the Falcons healthy.
Scott Fowler doesn’t think Jake Delhomme is finished. He might very well be right, but Delhomme better snap out of his slump very soon. The Panthers can’t afford to let their season get out of hand.
Reggie Bush is spending extra practice time catching punts after mishandling two of them Sunday.
Mike Bianchi takes exception with the NFL’s classification of Orlando as a “secondary’’ market, mainly because local television must carry the Bucs and Jaguars every week. This is outside of the NFC South, but I like Bianchi's suggestion that the Jaguars play some of their home games in Orlando. That franchise is struggling to sell tickets in Jacksonville and branching out might be a solution.
