I just sent a story to our news desk saying the Saints have placed offensive tackle Jammal Brown on the injured reserve list.
Brown had hip and sports hernia surgery in August and missed the first three games. There initially was hope that he might return around the middle of the season, but the Saints apparently determined that wouldn't happen. They signed offensive lineman Nick Leckey to fill the roster spot.
Jermon Bushrod has started in Brown's place and played well. The Saints have Zach Strief as their top backup tackle.
