Before we get to the epic preseason tilt between Tampa Bay and Miami, let’s check in on a few other things around the division.

Several teams had early-evening media availability and we have a few developments.
  • Atlanta coach Mike Smith said rookie fullback Bradie Ewing will miss the entire season after suffering a knee injury in Thursday night’s preseason opener. Congratulations to Mike Cox, who now almost certainly will be the starting fullback.
  • Carolina coach Ron Rivera said quarterback Cam Newton and the rest of the starters will play about a quarter in Saturday night’s preseason opener against Houston.
  • New Orleans assistant head coach Joe Vitt said tight end Jimmy Graham, running back Mark Ingram and cornerback Patrick Robinson, who all have missed time due to injury, are expected to return to practice next week.
