 Beason
 Peppers
Carolina linebacker Jon Beason has gone quiet after calling out defensive end Julius Peppers on the radio last week.

Beason, normally a very friendly type, hasn’t been speaking to the media. A couple of his teammates said Beason made a mistake by making the comments on the air, instead of keeping his thoughts in-house.

I’m going to disagree with that. In the portion of the world that’s not run by coach John Fox, Beason’s got every right to say what’s on his mind. He made some comments about Peppers and intensity, those were topics that were on the minds of a lot of people. Beason just had the courage to say it.

Also, you can’t argue with the results. Peppers had just one sack heading into Sunday’s game with Washington. The Panthers won that game and Peppers had two sacks.

Maybe Beason, who is the real leader of this team, did just the right thing.
