ATLANTA -- The New Orleans Saints continue to have the league’s worst-rated defense.

The NFL just put out its weekly stats, which obviously don’t include Monday night's results, and the Saints remained No. 32 in total defense. They’re No. 32 against the run and No. 24 against the pass.

But the Saints have some company in the NFC South. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are No. 30. Although the Bucs are No. 3 against the run, their overall ranking is dragged down heavily due to the fact that they’re No. 32 against the pass.

Carolina is only slightly better with the No. 24 overall ranking (25 against the run and 22 against the pass).

Atlanta is the only NFC South defense with a respectable rating. The Falcons are No. 15 overall (No. 29 against the run and No. 9 against the pass).

Atlanta also has the division’s best balance between offense and defense, and that might help explain why the Falcons are 4-0. The Atlanta offense is No. 15 overall (No. 18 in rushing and No. 10 in passing).

New Orleans and Carolina have better offensive rankings, but their defenses are clearly holding them back in the standings.

The Saints are No. 8 in total offense (No. 26 in rushing and No. 3 in passing). The Panthers are No. 13 in total offense (No. 11 rushing and No. 14 passing).

Tampa Bay is No. 30 in total offense (19th in rushing and 29th in passing).
