This should come as no surprise, but the NFL has announced that Drew Brees is the NFC Offensive Player of the Week.

Brees made history Sunday night when he threw a touchdown pass in his 48th consecutive game to break the 52-year-old record set by Johnny Unitas. Brees also led the Saints to their first win of the season, a 31-24 victory against San Diego, the team he began his career with.

Brees finished the game with 370 passing yards and four touchdowns while completing 29 of 45 passes (64.4 percent).

This is the 16th player of the week award of Brees’ 12-year career.
