The 12-2 Atlanta Falcons still haven’t clinched but the NFC South title, but they’re closing in on more.
According to ESPN Stats & Information, there are three ways the Falcons can clinch the NFC’s No. 1 seed (and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs). They could do it with a victory Saturday night at Detroit or with a tie against the Lions plus a San Francisco loss or with a San Francisco loss plus a Green Bay tie.
There also are several scenarios in which the Falcons can clinch a first-round bye, but not the No. 1 seed. They can do it if they tie with Detroit or if San Francisco loses or if Green Bay loses or ties.
