NEW ORLEANS -- Just came back from the Superdome where I attended ESPN Monday Night Football's Chalk Talk.

It was a luncheon with some ESPN television personalities, a couple of former Saints (Pat Swilling and Joe Johnson and I'll have more from them in a bit), and a couple hundred fans. Perhaps the most candid moment of the function came when ESPN analyst and former Minnesota running back Robert Smith was asked if New Orleans' running back Reggie Bush has lived up to expectations.

In a room full of Saints' fans, Smith didn't tell the crowd what it wanted to hear. But he told the truth. Smith said Bush hasn't lived up to the hype. He praised Bush's talent, but said the young running back still has to learn how to be patient behind his blockers.
