Where they rank on offense, defense

Despite an impressive overtime win in Dallas on Sunday, the New Orleans Saints still have the league’s worst defense.

The latest NFL rankings are out and the Saints are sitting tight at No. 32 in total defense. They’re No. 29 against the run and No. 32 against the pass. They also have some NFC South company at the bottom.

Tampa Bay is ranked No. 29 in total defense. The Bucs continue to rank last against the pass and No. 1 against the run.

The Atlanta Falcons rank No. 23 in total defense (tied for No. 20 against the run and No. 23 against the pass). The Carolina Panthers are the division’s best statistical defense. They’re No. 8 overall (No. 15 against the run and No. 8 against the pass).

On offense, the Saints continue to lead the division. They’re No. 3 in total offense (No. 24 in rushing and No. 2 in passing). But the Falcons aren’t far behind. They’re No. 7 in total offense (No. 28 in rushing and No. 5 in passing).

Believe it or not, Tampa Bay has a top-10 offense. The Bucs are No. 10 overall (No. 16 in rushing and No. 9 in passing). Carolina is No. 17 in total offense (No. 10 in rushing and No. 17 in passing).
