NEW ORLEANS -- Just got some interesting numbers from the Elias Sports Bureau on Minnesota's Adrian Peterson and New Orleans' Reggie Bush. Contrary to popular belief, Bush's numbers up the middle aren't bad.

In fact, he's had essentially the same numbers as Peterson in the interior running game since the start of 2007. Here's a comparison of Peterson's running and Bush's running since the start of last year.

Adrian Peterson
 LeftMiddleRight
Rushes9813984
Rush Yards711566484
Yards per rush7.34.15.8
Rush TD555
Reggie Bush
 LeftMiddleRight
Rushes50

Rush Yards181
418165
Yards per rush3.6
4.12.9
Rush TD0

What's that mean? Partly that Bush's interior running isn't as bad as we might think. But the bigger lesson here is how strong the left side of Minnesota's line (with Steve Hutchinson and Bryant McKinnie) is.
