Tampa Bay wide receiver Vincent Jackson is going to the Pro Bowl after all.
Although he wasn’t selected initially, Jackson was added to the roster Tuesday. He’ll replace Detroit’s Calvin Johnson.
This will be Jackson’s third Pro Bowl and first as a member of the Buccaneers. More importantly, it helps validate the decision to sign Jackson as a free agent last March.
The Bucs were looking for a true No. 1 receiver and someone who could stretch the field. That’s exactly what they ended up getting.
Jackson had 72 catches for 1,384 yards, both career highs, and eight touchdowns. His 19.2-yard average per catch led the NFL.
