After a game in which Julius Peppers flashed how dominant he can be, the Carolina defensive end has been named the NFC’s defensive player of the week.
Peppers had an interception return for a touchdown, a forced fumble and a sack in Sunday’s victory against Arizona. This is the third time in Peppers’ career he’s earned the honor and he’s the only player in Carolina history to win three defensive player of the week awards.
More than ever, the Panthers need Peppers to show he can play like that consistently when they take on Drew Brees and the Saints on Sunday.
