Atlanta left tackle Sam Baker missed a second straight day of practice. Julius Peppers, meet Matt Ryan.
Carolina running backs DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart returned to practice Thursday after sitting out Wednesday, although Williams was limited. But fullback Brad Hoover continued to sit out.
Tampa Bay receiver Antonio Bryant sat out a second straight day. That decision to place the franchise tag on him, instead of signing him to a long-term contract, is looking better every day.
The good news for the Saints is that safety Darren Sharper returned to practice on a limited basis Thursday. The bad news is that cornerback Jabari Greer and defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis remained out. The fabulous news is, it doesn’t really matter if the Saints are a little banged up right now. They’ve got St. Louis and Tampa Bay the next two games.
