TAMPA, Fla. -- It’s not too difficult to figure out what Mike Evans’ contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will look like.

Thanks to the NFL’s slotting system, the parameters of the deal are pretty clear. Evans was taken with the seventh overall pick in this year’s draft. All you have to do is look back at what last year’s seventh pick got and add a slight raise to account for an increased salary cap.

Arizona offensive lineman Jonathan Cooper was the seventh pick in last year’s draft, so let’s take a look at his contract. Cooper signed a four-year deal worth $14.549 million with a signing bonus of $8.961. The entire contract is guaranteed.

Since Evans was a first-round pick, the Bucs will hold an option for a fifth year.
