Turner's at least talking the talk

You never want to read too much into situations surrounding injuries and coaches do their best to keep these matters secret. However, I think the Atlanta Falcons might have tipped their hand a bit about running back Michael Turner.

He was the player put on a conference call with the New Orleans media Wednesday morning. This is just my gut feeling and it’s based largely on things I’ve seen in the past, but I think the mere fact the Falcons made Turner available is a sign there’s a pretty good chance that he’ll play Sunday against the Saints.

Turner has missed two out of the last three games with an ankle injury. I’m sure we’ll get some sort of vague update on Turner from coach Mike Smith later this afternoon. But here’s what Turner had to say about his condition.

“I’m still up in the air, fighting to get back day by day,’’ Turner said. “It’s been frustrating with the injuries I’ve had and not being able to help my team out every week.’’
