Favre would be able to pick up offense on the fly

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- As we wait for something to happen on the Brett Favre situation, it's time to address one of the questions that's circulating around Disney's Wide World of Sports.

Suppose Favre does end up with the Bucs -- can he pick up the offense in a few weeks?

That's the question coming from the skeptics and that's logical. An NFL offense is complicated and Tampa Bay's might be more complicated than most. It also takes time to develop chemistry and timing with receivers.

But the flip side is, we're talking about Favre and we're talking about Jon Gruden. They're two guys who have spent much of their careers doing things on the fly. Gruden once got Bruce Gradkowski to be a functional quarterback after injuries had wiped out the position.

Gradkowski was a rookie without a lot of talent. Favre is a former Most Valuable Player.

Imagine what Gruden could do with Favre. Then, imagine what Favre could do for Gruden.
