Atlanta linebacker Curtis Lofton surfaced on the injury report and sat out Wednesday’s practice. Quarterback Matt Ryan, running back Michael Turner and cornerback Chris Houston, who have been dealing with injuries for several weeks, did not practice.
After missing three games with a knee injury, Tampa Bay wide receiver Michael Clayton returned to practice Wednesday. He took part on a limited basis.
New Orleans cornerback Jabari Greer returned to practice on a limited basis, two weeks after having surgery to repair a sports hernia. Despite all their other injuries at cornerback (Randall Gay sat out with a concussion), don’t look for the Saints to go too quickly in getting Greer back into the lineup. The important thing is to have him at full strength for the playoffs.
Carolina quarterback Jake Delhomme continued to be held out of practice and there’s no real reason to think the Panthers will start anyone but Matt Moore the rest of the way. Running backs DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart also sat out practice.
