We’ve talked all season about the New Orleans offense and how prolific the Saints have been. We’ve even compared them to the 2007 Patriots at times.

They’re not quite there, but they are in the ballpark. According to ESPN’s Stats & Information, the 2007 Patriots set the record for highest percentage of possessions resulting in a touchdown. Those Patriots scored a touchdown on 40.6 percent of their possessions.

The Saints currently rank third in that category, scoring touchdowns on 32.3 percent of their drives. They’ve scored a touchdown on 53 of 164 offensive possessions. The 2004 Colts scored touchdowns on 35.2 percent of their drives to rank second.
