The Saints had their first real practice in preparation for the Super Bowl on Thursday and their injury list is pretty lengthy.

Tight end Jeremy Shockey (knee), safety Darren Sharper (knee), cornerback Randall Gay (foot), cornerback Malcolm Jenkins (hamstring), linebacker Jonathan Vilma (knee), defensive end Will Smith (groin), tailback Lynell Hamilton (ankle) and kick returner Courtney Roby (knee) all were held out of practice. Offensive lineman Zach Strief (shoulder) practiced on a limited basis.

Coach Sean Payton acknowledged that Shockey visited a specialist earlier this week, but said no surgical procedures were performed. Payton also said he believed Shockey’s recovery was moving in a positive direction.
