Panthers' Bridges arrested on eve of 'MNF' game

Ira Cronin of Charlotte's WCNC reports Carolina Panthers backup guard Jeremy Bridges was arrested Sunday night.
The incident shouldn't have a major impact on the Panthers as they prepare to play the Tampa Bay Buccaeers on "Monday Night Fooftball." Bridges is a backup lineman who probably wouldn't get any significant playing time in this game unless there are injury issues.
Bridges has been involved in a similar off-field incident and that means his time with the Panthers is very much in question. Coach John Fox and general manager Marty Hurney don't put up with many problems (unless they involve Steve Smith). I wouldn't be surprised if Bridges is release immediately. At best, the Panthers will hang onto Bridges the rest of the season as the legal saga plays out and quietly cut ties after the season.
