Panthers could be without starting DTs against Saints

Some more bad news on the injury front for the Carolina Panthers.

Now, the Panthers might be without their two starting defensive tackles. Damione Lewis didn't practice Wednesday after injuring his shoulder in Sunday night's loss to the Giants. The Panthers already were playing that game without Maake Kemoeatu (ankle) and it showed as the Giants ran for 300 yards.

As is his custom, coach John Fox wouldn't say what the outlook is for either player. But it's not too hard to figure out the Panthers could have a problem if both starting defensive tackles are out. They could be looking at going into Sunday with Darwin Walker and Nick Hayden as their starting defensive tackles.

The good news is they're playing the Saints who rely on the pass. But New Orleans coach Sean Payton may look at the film of the New York game and suddenly decide to give Pierre Thomas 40 carries straight up the middle.High School Lacrosse
