Our friends at ESPN Stats & Information sent over some stuff on Sunday’s showdown between the Jets and Saints.
To support the idea that something has to give when the league’s best offense faces one of the best defenses, they offer the following nuggets:
Drew Brees has the best passer rating in NFL (118.1),while the Jets' opponent passer rating is 2nd lowest in the NFL (50.2).
Brees is tied for second in yards per attempt (8.7), while the Jets’ defense allows the fewest yards per attempt (4.7)
Brees is second in the NFL in completion percentage (69.1), while the Jets’ opponent completion percentage is lowest in the NFL (47.9).
The Texans, Patriots and Titans combined to complete 47.9 percent of their passes. The Jets are the only team through Week 3 whose opponent completion percentage is below 50 percent.
The last team with an opponent completion percentage this low after 3 games was last year's Ravens (43.5).
