Clearing up a common statistical mistake
By Pat Yasinskas
As we get ready for Sunday’s big NFC South showdown between the Atlanta Falcons and the New Orleans Saints, let’s clear up a statistical mistake made by multiple media outlets this week.
The Falcons have not won a game in the Louisiana Superdome since 2002. There’s been a lot of confusion over that fact because the Falcons did actually win a road game against the Saints in 2005.
But that game was not played in the Superdome. It was played in the Alamo Dome in San Antonio, which the Saints were using as one of their home fields in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
