LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Jon Gruden didn't get Brett Favre, but he did land another living legend.
Golfer Tiger Woods, who lives in the Orlando area, visited the Bucs' team hotel last night and spoke to the team. Woods and Gruden have plenty in common. Gruden's a golf fan and caddied for John Daly at a tournament in the Tampa area this spring. Woods is a football fan, although not necessarily a Tampa Bay fan. Woods is well-known as a fan of the Raiders, who Gruden used to coach.
"I'm president of his fan club,'' Gruden said. "He spoke to the team and got a chance to visit with a lot of the players. If you ask me, it's just my opinion, he is global. He is the No. 1 superstar in all of sports, at least on my list. He hits all the shots all the time. He has complete mental control. He's unbelievable and, hopefully, some of that rubbed off on us.''
