Afternoon update: Saints still pondering James

Just got back from my trip to Connecticut and waiting for word out of the NFL meeting in Fort Lauderdale on New Orleans' bid for the 2013 Super Bowl. In the meantime, here are some of the headlines around the NFC South.
- The Saints still are evaluating the possibility of bringing in running back Edgerrin James, Alex Marvez reports. He could fit in a trio with Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush. But I still wonder whether James is the true power back the Saints supposedly want and if he'd be willing to play only in that role.
- A Charlotte man has been arrested for waving a gun at Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis over the weekend. It turned out to be only a BB gun and no one was injured.
- The Saints have signed defensive end Anthony Hargrove. He's been a productive player at times, but also has had some problems. This gives the Saints some insurance if starting defensive ends Will Smith and Charles Grant end up having to serve four-game suspensions.
