Quick stint for Tampa Bay safety
By Pat Yasinskas
As expected, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers just made the official announcement that long-snapper Andrew Economos has been activated to the 53-man roster.
Economos had been on the reserve/non-football injury list all season after suffering a torn Achilles tendon during the lockout. Economos had returned to practice and the Bucs went ahead and cut long-snapper Christian Yount during the bye week, so it was obvious this was coming.
The one guy who might have been a bit blind-sided by this was safety David Sims. The Bucs just signed Sims on Tuesday. They waived him Friday to create the roster spot for Economos. Sims could end up re-signing with the Bucs.
