NFC South programming notes
By Pat Yasinskas
ATLANTA -- I’m about to fly home to Tampa. I’ll be back in pocket a bit later Monday afternoon. After the NFC South coaches have had a chance to meet with the media, we’ll check in on what they had to say.
Should be another busy week around the NFC South. The slumping Buccaneers travel to Tennessee on Sunday and they need to win to keep any playoff hopes alive. The Falcons face what should be a very winnable game when the Minnesota Vikings come to the Georgia Dome. But nothing is a given with the Falcons because they’re still striving to play with the consistency they’ve lacked all season.
The Panthers will be playing at Indianapolis on Sunday and, unless there is some of miracle and Peyton Manning suddenly returns, Cam Newton will be the best quarterback on the field. More importantly, Carolina’s defense will have a chance to look good for the first time in a long time.
The New Orleans Saints are coming off their bye week and they’ve got an extra day to get ready for next Monday night’s home game with the New York Giants. I’ll be covering that came in person.
Also, one other programming note. I’ll be working Friday, but we won’t have our weekly NFC South chat. The day after Thanksgiving is a company holiday and the support staff that organizes and handles the technical part of our chats will be off.
