Bucs make Jimmy Raye hiring official
By Pat Yasinskas
It’s been common knowledge for about a week now, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers just officially announced the hiring of Jimmy Raye as a senior offensive assistant.
"With over 30 years of NFL experience, coach Raye has attained a wealth of knowledge that will be an invaluable resource to our coaches and players," coach Greg Schiano said.
Raye is expected to work closely with offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan, who previously was quarterbacks coach of the New York Giants. Raye previously worked as offensive coordinator in Tampa Bay in 1985 and ’86. Raye has spent 34 seasons in the NFL and worked as an assistant for the Rams, Patriots, Chiefs, Redskins, Raiders, Jets and 49ers.
Most recently, he was San Francisco’s offensive coordinator, but was fired during the 2010 season.
