TAMPA, Fla. -- Punter Josh Bidwell, the player closest to Matt Bryant on the Buccaneers, just issued a statement through the team. Bidwell, who also works as the holder on field goals and extra points, was excused from practice after learning of the death of Bryant's infant son this morning.
"Like everyone, the news of Matt and Melissa Bryant's son, Tryson, hit me hard today,'' Bidwell said. "Having kids of my own, I couldn't imagine the pain that is associated with such a terrible loss. The entire extended Buccaneers family will be there for the Bryants in every way possible to help them during this difficult time. We hope that everyone keeps them in their thoughts and prayers.
The team said it will make information for expressions of sympathy and memorial donations available as soon as arrangements are completed.
