Halftime thoughts on Falcons-Raiders
By Pat Yasinskas
ATLANTA -- Julio Jones and Roddy White have made big catches, Michael Turner has had a few nice runs and defensive linemen John Abraham and Jonathan Babineaux are having very productive days.
If you just viewed the highlights, you would think the Atlanta Falcons were running the Oakland Raiders out of the Georgia Dome. But that’s not at all the case.
At halftime, the Raiders lead the Falcons 13-7.
There’s a reason the Falcons aren’t winning a game that they should be walking away with. Quarterback Matt Ryan has been intercepted three times in the first half. The first two were bad throws and the third came as Ryan was getting hit. The third interception also set up an Oakland touchdown pass near the end of the first half.
The Falcons have a chance to get to 6-0 heading into their bye week, but they’re going to need a much more efficient second half out of Ryan.
