NFC South programming notes
By Pat Yasinskas
TAMPA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT -- I’m about to make the trek to Charlotte, where I’ll be covering Sunday’s game between the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers.
Join us Sunday morning for the lists of inactives from the Falcons-Panthers game and the game between Tampa Bay and Philadelphia. I’ll have one eye on the field at Bank of America Stadium and the other on a television to watch the Bucs and Eagles.
We’ll have wrap-ups on both games as soon as they end, and we’ll follow that up with a wrap-up on the late-afternoon game between the New Orleans Saints and New York Giants.
Also, let’s run through a quick review of the clinching scenarios for the Falcons, who already have won the NFC South. Atlanta can clinch home-field advantage throughout the playoffs with a win, plus a Chicago loss or tie and a San Francisco loss.
There also three ways the Falcons can clinch a first-round bye. They can do it with a win, plus a loss or tie by Chicago and a loss or tie by Green Bay. They also can get the first-round bye with a win plus a San Francisco loss. The third scenario is an Atlanta tie plus losses by Chicago and Green Bay.
