New Orleans Saints claim YAC title
By Pat Yasinskas
The regular season can’t be properly wrapped up until we reveal which defense led the league in yards allowed after the catch.
Throughout most of the season, this was a close race between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New Orleans Saints.
Well, we don’t need some anonymous source to declare the winner. Or is it the loser?
Whatever. According to ESPN Stats & Information, the Saints ended up winning the title. They allowed 2,280 yards after the catch. They barely beat out the Buccaneers, who allowed 2,262 yards after the catch.
The NFC South’s other two teams fared much better in this category. The Atlanta Falcons allowed 1,769 yards after the catch and the Carolina Panthers allowed 1,516 yards.
