Panthers have NFL's hardest schedule
By Pat Yasinskas
With the NFL schedule coming out Thursday night, let’s take a look at the strength of schedule for each of the four NFC South teams.
Going by the 2012 winning percentage of 2013 opponents, the Carolina Panthers have the NFL’s hardest schedule. Their opponents went a combined 138-116-2 last season for a .543 winning percentage.
The New Orleans Saints are just behind the Panthers. Their opponents were 137-117-2 for a .539 winning percentage. That ties the Saints with Detroit and St. Louis for the second strongest schedule.
At least on paper, the Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers will face easier schedules.
Atlanta’s opponents were a combined 128-126-2 for a .504 winning percentage. Tampa Bay’s opponents were 127-127-2 for a .500 winning percentage.
