Rapid Reaction: Panthers 28, Falcons 19
By Pat Yasinskas
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Carolina Panthers aren’t done yet. The Atlanta Falcons just might be.
Carolina’s now 4-5. The Falcons are 5-4. But I’m thinking the Panthers might have a better shot than the Falcons at getting to the playoffs. I’m serious.
Look at their remaining schedules. The Falcons have some brutal games. The Panthers have a little easier schedule. They also are playing their best football of the season right now. The Falcons are not playing well at all and we’ll see if this ankle injury might keep Michael Turner out for a lengthy period of time.
Carolina’s played well the past three games -- in victories against Arizona and the Falcons and in a loss to the Saints. Looks like John Fox was right last week when he said his team was better than a 3-5 squad.
There’s still plenty of talent on this roster and, despite an 0-3 start that was beyond brutal, there’s still plenty of time to get back in the playoff race. Seeing the Panthers play like they did against the Falcons makes me wonder how in the heck they lost at home to Buffalo a few weeks ago.
