CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- As one might expect from the division champion, the Carolina Panthers led the way with 10 players on ESPN.com's All-NFC South team.
As one might expect from the league's second-ranked defense, five of those players came from that side of the ball. It easily could have been six had end Charles Johnson not been snubbed.
Those selected on defense were: rookie tackle Star Lotulelei, end Greg Hardy, inside linebacker Luke Kuechly, outside linebacker Thomas Davis and free safety Mike Mitchell.
Those selected on offense were: running back DeAngelo Williams, left tackle Jordan Gross and center Ryan Kalil.
In addition, kicker Graham Gano and kick returner Ted Ginn Jr. were chosen.
That Hardy was selected before he went on a tear of seven sacks over the final two games to give him a career-best 15 says a lot about what the voters thought of his play throughout the season.
The Panthers finished the regular season 12-4 overall and 5-1 in the division. They will face Philadelphia, Green Bay or San Francisco in a playoff game on Jan. 12 in Charlotte.
