LONDON, England -- New Orleans Saints linebacker Scott Fujita shared a great anecdote with the media this morning from his trip to see a Chelsea soccer match Wednesday night.
Fujita and reserve quarterback Joey Harrington had tickets for box seats that were a little cramped. Keep in mind, Fujita is 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds.
"I had a 65-year-old Englishman try to pick a fight with me," Fujita said.
"My knees were brushing his back," Fujita said. "He kept elbowing my knees, trying to get me out of his way. I said, 'I don't know what you expect me to do' and he started yelling at me and he said, 'Afterwards, we'll have a go.' I said, 'No, I'm not going to fight you.' ''
The Saints have been told repeatedly to be on their best behavior while in a foreign country and Fujita handled the situation with diplomacy.
"When Chelsea scored a goal and they were up 1-0, I saw that as my opportunity to squash this agreement we had, so I patted him on the back and said, 'Hey, are we friends now?' and he turned around and gave me a hug," Fujita said.
