TAMPA, Fla. -- The Bucs suddenly look a lot healthier than they have in recent weeks.
Safety Jermaine Phillips and tight end Alex Smith are both active for today's game after missing time with injuries. Phillips is expected to start at strong safety and Sabby Piscitelli will return to the bench. Phillips is expected to play with some sort of protective padding on the arm he broke more than a month ago.
Smith had been troubled by an ankle injury and the Bucs had split the work at tight end between John Gilmore and Jerramy Stevens.
Tampa Bay's inactives are quarterback Brian Griese, receiver Dexter Jackson, quarterback Josh Johnson, running back Noah Herron, safety Donte Nicholson, linebacker Matt McCoy, tackle James Lee and defensive tackle Greg Peterson.
