|ESPN.com: NFC South||[Print without images]|

I'm working on preparing a Carolina Panthers edition of the mailbag (as well as one for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers) for later. But I'm seeing we've got one very hot issue and thought that would be worth treating as a separate item.
We've got lots of strong opinions in the argument about whether Carolina or Tennessee has the true "Smash and Dash'' backfield. Just thought I'd share some of those with you.
Michael in Hickory writes: It's official the new nickname is Razzle Dazzle. Came from number 89 Steve Smith!!!
Hesaidwhat writes: I dont know why but the Smash N Dash thing burning me up! I cant find it on internet but I remember D. Will brung it up on a post game interview very early in the season maybe even preseason.
M in Salisbury writes: Forget the smash and dash give them the name rush and crush. That says the same thing. How about the old nuclear fallout video Duck and Cover. Because that's what to do when you see the bomb which could be either Williams or Stewart. Oh well I like reading your columns.
Josh in Clemson writes: Hey Pat, You do a fantastic job covering the NFC South. I'm from the Charlotte area (College student at Clemson now) and have enjoyed reading your stuff for the past couple of years now. I wanted to ask what you thought of LenDale Whites comments to the Panthers about the nicknames. To me it comes across as insulting and should give them added motivation.
Pat Yasinskas: Not sure whether the Carolina or Tennessee guys claimed it first. But I've got to admit I like the "Duck and Cover'' idea best of all with "Razzle Dazzle'' a close second.
