It’s a quiet morning in the NFC South so far and I'm working on some draft preview stuff for next week. But I wanted to throw you a quick reminder that we’ll be doing our weekly NFC South chat Friday at 1 p.m. ET. Here’s the link.

Speaking of links, here are a few items of note from around the division.

With backup quarterback Mark Brunell remaining a free agent, the Saints have met with a couple of possible alternatives. They reportedly brought in Josh McCown and Patrick Ramsey for visits and workouts. McCown was with Carolina last year, but suffered a season-ending injury. A lot of people expected the Panthers to re-sign him to be the backup for Matt Moore. But that doesn’t appear to be in Carolina’s plans.

A fine writer, a true pro and even better friend is leaving this crazy business. Pewter Report’s Jim Flynn is moving onto bigger and better things in the "real'' world. Here are his reflections on covering the Bucs for nearly a decade.

D. Orlando Ledbetter has a good overview on what Atlanta general manager Thomas Dimitroff already has done and how he continues to grow.
